On Monday, February 1st, dozens of cars lined up in front of the La Canada High School parking lot to participate in the Seniors Drive-Thru event. Multiple stands were set up in a long line filled with different kinds of treats and activities, and teachers stood outside greeting students with lots of energy and smiles on their faces.
Teachers handed out chocolate, cookies, soda, and even Chick-Fil-A sandwiches! There were games like guessing how many lollipops in a jar and tossing cookie bags into a board with holes from your car window.
In times like these, it’s imaginable how difficult it would be to celebrate the Senior class in a way that’s fun, but also safe. Students stayed in their cars and wore masks, and some teachers had hand sanitizer with them to minimize the spread of germs.
JT Salcido (12), an ASB member, says, “It was a lot of fun! It was really great to see a bunch of teachers in person that I haven’t seen for a while. I know a lot of people are asking for more, so ASB is getting in touch with the PTSA to organize more events like it.”
The Senior class is very grateful for the amount of time the LCHS administration and PTSA have put into making us feel appreciated in a school year filled with zoom calls and isolation.
