On September 4th, the LCHS band and color guard headed off to perform in the La County Fair. They got to participate in the parade, along with several other high school marching bands, with the possibility of $22,000 in prizes.
“The fair is always a fun time of the year and it’s a great opportunity for us to show off our musical selection and marching abilities while having a good time. The kids always look forward to it,” said Mr. Stone.
The band played the musical selections of “In the Stone” by Earth, Wind, and Fire, and “Believer” by Imagine Dragons.
“It was my first time attending the fair and my favorite part so far is definitely the variety of food and rides we can try out since we have some free time before and after the parade,” said Kevin Fang (9).
There were some minor concerns from students about safety regarding the fair and the recent shootings in large public areas, but thankfully everything went smoothly.
The LCHS band is continuing to work hard on their upcoming show, Synesthesia: The Color of Sound, so be sure to give support at any of the upcoming football games during half time or at the friends and family show on November 22nd!
