With Thanksgiving just around the corner, people are trying to plan their gatherings and events. This year will most definitely be different than any other because of COVID-19 and social distancing. Unfortunately, families might find that they are having a harder time trying to get together now.
According to the California Department of Public Health, large gatherings that have an attendance of 3 households are prohibited. People are also supposed to be holding their gatherings short and outdoors. The CDPH also states that physical distancing and mask-wearing is mandatory. They highly recommend that people don’t spend their holidays with the elderly or those with health conditions. Due to such precautions, people are finding alternatives to their normal Thanksgiving gatherings.

Similarly, Henry Thuss (11) tells us, “For Thanksgiving this year we are going to be doing a social distant Thanksgiving in the backyard with my immediate family and my mom’s friend from high school who we consider to be family friends.”
However, just because you can’t see everyone this year, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have any fun!
