On Wednesday, February 26th, the class of 2020 celebrated the beginning of the end of their high school careers. In alignment with LCHS tradition, the seniors commemorated the 100 days left of the semester by dressing in their class t-shirts and enjoying 100 Grand chocolate bars.
Graduation is fast approaching, and students have a range of outlooks. So, how do they feel about it being just 100 days away?
“I’m a bit overwhelmed but overall excited,” said Jane Gallegos (12). “Mostly it’s weird how I’m going to have to leave LC behind after being here all my life.”
Eli Coffey (12) expressed slightly different feelings. “I’m not gonna miss school but I’ll miss the people. Well, some of the people- they know who they are”.
Assemblies Commissioner Grey Ingrassia (12) expressed gratitude for his years at LCHS. “I’m excited to start the next chapter of my life, but I will forever be in debt to the lessons I learned and the people I learned them from, thanking especially Justin Eick, Brandon Carroll, and Brian McDermott.”
As graduation draws closer, it’s time for the class of 2020 to make the best of the next three months. After all, as long as high school may seem to drag on, days like this remind us that it won’t last forever.
