Over Spring Break, Frau Sos took some of her German students to Germany. They left on March 23rd and came back on March 31st. Students in middle and high school had the opportunity to travel. Two high school students and three middle school students in Frau Sos’s classes went. The others that were there are not in German.
Bicycling through the Englischer Garten was Frau Sos’s favorite thing to do.
For Sophia Ponce (8), walking through Innsbruck and Munich were the best parts of the trip.
Munich, Dachau, Fussen, Innsbruck, Lucerne, and Heidelberg were the biggest areas or places the group traveled to.
The group visited many places, but one in particular was Dachau, a former Nazi concentration camp.
Frau Sos thought that the significance of seeing Dachau was that, “I think students realized the enormity of the situation, and the German willingness to accept responsibility and history and vow to not repeat it.”
They also visited the Schloss Neuschwanstein Castle, which is located in Bavaria, Mount Pilatus, Innsbruck, Austria, and the Chapel Bridge in Lucerne, Switzerland.
