Apple released their new iPhone, iPhone X, on Friday, November 3. What is different with the iPhone X when it uses the same A11 Bionic CPU, as well as the same graphics processors and cameras as the previous iPhones?
First of all, the home button is gone. The 5.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels fills the entire front of the phone. The back of the phone is made of glass and the sides are polished stainless steel. The screen is the deepest of any iPhone, and there are black bars along the screen edges. You swipe down from the right ear of the screen to bring up the control center. Like the iPhone 8, the iPhone X is water resistant and has a 12-megapixel main camera with a dual lens setup. The front camera, called the True Depth camera, includes a flood illuminator, a dot projector that projects 30,000 infrared dots on your face and has a 7-megapixel sensor with the ability to shoot in portrait mode.
The Face ID, which caught the attention of many customers, now replaces the Touch ID. You can set Face ID to unlock your phone and animate emojis, called the animoji. The animoji is the iMessage app that lets you record small clips as the emoji will take on your facial expressions and share with friends.
More additions to the iPhone X include incredibly loud stereo speakers, a larger side button that controls Siri and Apple Pay, and the 3D Touch shortcuts on the lock screen. There is no headphone jack, but there is a pair of lightning earpods and a lightning adapter included. Also, the battery life of iPhone X will last up to two hours longer than iPhone 7.
The demand for iPhone X is far greater than the supply. It takes about three to four weeks for delivery, as the apple website states. For pricing, the 64 gigabyte iPhone X costs $999, and the 256 gigabyte iPhone X costs $1,149. The phone is available in two colors, silver and space gray.
